Volunteering, and humanitarian service that makes a difference, is vitally needed in today’s world of turmoil and strife. A key to filling this need is finding volunteer organizations that actually make a positive difference.
In this newsletter, you will find articles with ideas that can help you choose volunteer experiences that matter both to the community served and to you, the volunteer. In my experience, there is nothing more personally rewarding then to leave a community served knowing, from the interpersonal relationships with community members, that both their lives and yours have been positively influenced by your service.
Safety is also a major consideration for you the volunteer. I have included an article that offers some excellent suggestions on steps you can take to ensure your safety
Lastly, as many of us are of retirement age, there is an article about meaningful trips in Africa for retirees and how Croatia is emerging as a top retiree destination.
I hope you enjoy the newsletter. As always, contact me if you have any thoughts about subjects you would like to see covered in future newsletters.
