ConservationVIP is an environmental nonprofit organization dedicated to helping sustain some of the world’s greatest landscapes, cultural heritage sites, and biodiversity.
ConservationVIP organizes and leads small group volunteer trips to a few extraordinary destinations, including Machu Picchu, the Galapagos Islands, Cinque Terre, Patagonia, and the Amazon. The trips are between one and two weeks long. The hands-on projects include activities such as trail maintenance, restoring archaeological sites, and protecting and restoring critical habitats, depending on the location of the trip and the needs at the destinations.
Because we collaborate with local public land managers and community groups, our groups often have access to places, projects and people that most travelers never see. The slow travel also builds meaningful connections with the place and the people that are quite different from the typical customer/vendor dynamic experienced by most tourists. Surrounded by like-minded people who care about the environment, many come away with new friendships and a sense of purpose and satisfaction that lasts beyond the journey itself.
For active travelers who like to “get their hands dirty”, ConservationVIP offers a unique opportunity to fully experience the destinations and the people as they help the environment.
